The first day of E3 was concluded today and BioWare announced a new game called Anthem. Not a lot of details were provided, but a teaser did mention “the wall… it protects us from what lies beyond” (which actually seemed like a reference to the hit anime/manga Attack on Titan).
Anthem could probably compete with the likes of Activision’s Destiny and Blizzard’s Overwatch. The upcoming BioWare game was previously teased to be released in 2018 but was later pushed to 2019. You can see the trailer below.
Players will be able to explore a vast open world while wearing exosuits called “Javelins.” There are different classes to choose from. So far, two classes have been revealed: the Colossus and the Ranger. The Colossus, as you might have guessed, is the tank class. It is bulky and equipped with heavy armor. The Ranger class, on the other hand, is a balanced class.
Players will be able to upgrade the suits with their choice of weaponry. So far, we’ve seen shotguns, machine guns, homing missiles, and artillery.
From what was shown in the trailer, weapons will also be classified based on rarity. The trailer shows the player getting a legendary gun.
Based on the information released about Anthem, we know that players can team up in groups of up to 4 players. Just watch the trailer below and you’ll be drooling in no time.
