Perhaps the most popular map in the history of Counter Strike is getting a makeover in Counter Strike: Global Offensive. Overall, the makeover promises to “improve player readability throughout the map, refine movement around the world including cover, and upgrade the visuals to be in line with modern maps”.
Dust 2 has been the quintessential map for Dust 2 and most players play on this map. The map has been around since the original Counter Strike which was released back in 2000, 17 years ago.
The new Dust 2 is available in CS:Go Beta as the developer wait for player feedback before putting it on the live servers.
The changes include adding natural lighting to the tunnels, reducing unnecessary map distractions, improving corner peeks, improving lighting in some areas, and improving textures. You can check out the images below for comparison.
In addition, the Leet Krew, the classic villains of Dust II also received a makeover.
You can check out the post here for more detailed information on the changes to the map.
