Dragon Quest Summer Festival 2017 ended with a surprise from Square Enix.
Dragon Quest Builders 2, the sequel to its building action role-playing game, is coming to the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch. The game will add new features like sloping platforms, four-player multiplayer, the option to create waterfalls, and swim underwater. Players can also travel quickly through the world of Dragon Quest Builders 2 thanks to a new hang glider.
It was hinted that the game’s storyline will take place in the same world as Dragon Quest II. The original Dragon Quest Builders was set in a blocky approximation of the world from the original NES Dragon Quest and included numerous storyline references to the game. Despite the possible change of location, it looks like Dragon Quest Builders 2 will feature the same silent main character as the last game.
There is no official trailer for Dragon Quest Builders 2 trailer yet, but you can look at the gameplay by checking out Square Enix’s archived stream.
Next year will be a good year for Dragon Quest fan as Square Enix also announced that Dragon Quest XI will be coming to North America, and Dragon Quest Builders 2 will be probably coming in the same year.
