Starting October 31, FINAL FANTASY XV players will be able to create their own avatar and join up with three other friends to take on epic quests and battle in the game’s first and only online-multiplayer expansion. Titled Comrades, players will set foot as a survivor from Kingsglaive to find out more about the disappearance of Noctis after the events in Chapter 13 from the main game.
This is the first time a non-MMO mainline Final Fantasy title is getting multiplayer support. Role-playing games where you can play the full story co-cooperatively isn’t very common but could be a neat thing for companies to explore going forward. Depending on how this pans out, this might influence future Final Fantasy games.
