Just recently, it was revealed that Final Fantasy XV will get a PC release. Now, the modding community is in a buzz upon hearing that Final Fantasy XV will be moddable.
Game director Hajime Tabata was quoted at Gamescom saying:
I think one of the biggest things players can expect is mod support. We definitely want to do it. We haven’t actually managed to get our full modding policy or discussions on that finished but at the moment we do really want to do it. We’ll have the full details around autumn time.
Whether the game will be capable of running mods at release or if modding capability will be available on future updates is still not certain. In many modding communities, players are already talking about the possibilities modding could bring to the game such as quality of life fixes, and other character and weapon mods.

Confusions About the Final Fantasy XV Install Size
Soon after the announcement of the Final Fantasy XV hitting PCs, the PC gaming community was reacting to the game’s install size which was reportedly 170GB. It is quite common for current games to have an install size of 40GB or more. But 170GB might be a little too much so the uproar was understandable.
However, Tabata confirmed at Gamescon that the game will not actually be 170GB.
That was a communications mistake – something got put in a memo that really shouldn’t have. What that is based on the specs that we’re running the demo on today.
According to Tabata, the specifications for the release version has not yet been confirmed and there is a good chance this it will change.
No definite release date has been announced but the game is expected to arrive on Steam early in 2018.
Other FFXV Ports
Square Enix has also recently announced that Final Fantasy XV is also getting a mobile version for iOS, Android, and Windows. The game will be a dumbed down version of the original game so it could run on a mobile platform. The mobile version will feature chibi characters and an identical battle system.
