Early today, Atlus announced two new Persona dancing games.
The first one is Persona 5: Dancing Star Night, a rhythm game that has the cast of Persona 5 take part in a dance-off in the streets of Shibuya with recognizable Persona 5 landmarks. The trailer shows the protagonist, Ann, Ryuji, and Makoto showing off their moves.
Atlus also revealed the existence of another Persona spinoff title: Persona Q2 for Nintendo 3DS. The company didn’t provide much in the way of details, but a teaser website hints that Persona Q2 will be based on Persona 5.
Before this, there was a spin-off set within the Persona series called Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth. Shadow of the Labyrinth featured characters from Persona 3 and Persona 4. The original Persona Q was released for Nintendo 3DS in 2014.
Fans of the series should be ecstatic. Although none of these titles are mainline games, it’s still incredible to see familiar characters pop up in a different genre. Even if you aren’t a fan of rhythm games, the two Persona rhythm games might be worth playing for the story and existing characters alone.
The rhythm games will be released early next year and Q2 sometime in 2018.
