Starting November 14, Starcraft 2 will be free to play. In the Starcraft 2 official website, Blizzard states that “StarCraft II‘s single-player and multiplayer modes will become accessible for free.”
Of course this doesn’t mean that everything will be for free as some aspects of the game will still be blocked by a paywall. Free players will be able to access the Wings of Liberty campaign, Versus Mode, commanders Kerrigan, Raynor, and Artanis are completely free, and all other Commanders are free up to level 5.
Other campaigns, commanders and announcers can be purchased on the shop. These include Nova Covert Opts, Legacy of the Void, Heart of the Swarm and Battle Chest. Other commanders that can be purchased include Abathur, Alarak, Dehaka, Fenix, Nova and Stukov. You can check out other items in the shop here which also includes custom announcer voices.
You can download the game through Blizzard’s Battle.net Desktop application.
